See more about this pub on WhatPub, CAMRA's national pub guide.
The Castle is as the name suggests immediately adjacent to the grade 1 ruins of Halton Castle. The pub itself is the 18th century grade 2* listed courthouse. There are magnificent views towards both Liverpool and Cheshire.
This pub has seen a welcome return to real ale being served. There are three rooms downstairs, each with an open fire hearth. Upstairs there is a function room with a small bar (no real ale).
Food available as listed - traditional roast dinners on Sunday.
The pub is lead by a young team with a real passion for good ale and great food. A place to watch.
